It can be very easy to be distracted by negative and imposing thoughts. Try these ten positive affirmations for anxiety to help ease yourself into a situation while having control over your body and emotions.

When anxiety takes control, it’s so important to speak kindly to yourself in order to ground yourself once more.

Sometimes, it’s easier said than done. However, often, repeating some positive affirmations can truly alleviate your anxiety and enable you to take control of your thoughts and feelings again.

If you are feeling anxiety or depressive symptoms, your subsequent behaviour will depend entirely on how you respond. Positive affirmations can and will provide some relief from these symptoms if you give them a chance.

Have a read of these ten best positive affirmations for anxiety to try them out next time you’re feeling low or anxious. You never know; they just might work.

    10. “I will talk to myself as though I’m speaking to a loved one.” − respect yourself like you respect others

As the saying goes, how are you going to love anybody if you don’t love yourself? You would never speak to someone you love in a way that puts them down and makes them feel bad about themselves.

So, don’t do it to yourself, either. Lift yourself up, tell yourself how AMAZING you are, and that you have got this, no matter what.

    9. “It’s ok to say no for the sake of my mental health.” − turn that event down; it’s ok!

Reminding ourselves that it's okay to say no is one of the best positive affirmations for anxiety.

Never feel the need to put yourself in a position that you’re not comfortable with. Have you been invited to a party, but you just don’t think it will serve you right now?

Say no. If the event or situation involves people who genuinely love and care about you, they will understand and won’t resent you for it.

    8. “The panic I feel is only temporary.” − the moment will pass
