A man from Derbyshire has completed his epic tour on his self-appointed mission of visiting every Wetherspoon pub in Britain and Ireland.
Many of us enjoy a drink or two in the pub, but David Bingham from Derbyshire in England recently took his love for the pub to the next level. Bingham spent the last four years visiting every Wetherspoon pub in Britain and Ireland.
He officially completed his list of 876 pubs after he bought a cheap flight ticket to Ireland to get through security at Gatwick Airport and visit The Flying Horse pub.
David Bingham – a massive fan of Wetherspoon pubs

Bingham’s a massive fan of Wetherspoon pubs, and when his partner Una Cooper bought him a pubs directory, he began working on his mission of visiting every Wetherspoon pub in Britain and Ireland.
Bingham said about his aim of visiting all the Wetherspoon pubs: “I travel about a lot following Burton Albion, and to do my trainspotting, and every time I get to somewhere new, I search out the Wetherspoons.
“There are so many interesting ones. I’ve had a drink in old fire stations, a police station, a tram station, printing halls, and newspaper officers. There’s such a history to a lot of these pubs”.
Regarding how he managed to visit each one and how much he spent doing it, he added: “I mainly travel by public transport, so I’ve been able to have a pint in most of them.
“I don’t know how much I’ve spent. We don’t just go to the pub, we visit other things, and we stay over when we travel, so maybe £30,000? Whatever the number, it’s been such a great experience. I’ve really been living the dream”.
Wetherspoons – one of the most popular and recognisable pub chains in Britain

Wetherspoons was founded by Tim Martin and grew rapidly over the years, establishing itself as one of the most popular and recognisable pub chains in Britain, with over 900 locations across the UK and even a few in Ireland.
The fact that Wetherspoons offers affordable food and drink and a relaxed atmosphere has helped it become a firm fixture of British pub culture.
Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said of David’s achievement, “We applaud David Bingham on his outstanding achievement. Many people love to visit Wetherspoon pubs across the UK and Ireland, but only a handful have visited each and every one.
“David will now join that select group. He has obviously put in a lot of time and effort into achieving his goal, and we thank him for his dedication to our pubs”.
Visiting every Wetherspoon pub in Ireland and Britain – a mammoth task

David said he was “elated” to have completed his tour of all 876 Wetherspoon pubs, and according to Wetherspoon, David has officially joined a very small number of people who have achieved this impressive feat.
“I’m not sure you’re supposed to buy a plane ticket just so you can get to the pub, but there was no other way. I do feel elated. I’m over the moon. It started with all the pubs in Derbyshire, then all the pubs in Staffordshire, then I just kept going, really,” explained David.
