Everyone’s favourite book series is back with a brand-new face, Little Miss Waste Less. The new arrival to the gang has come to inspire future generations to take up more environmentally-friendly habits.

A collaboration between the Mr. Men children’s book series and Ecover, a Belgian company that produces ‘ecologically sound’ cleaning products, has introduced a brand-new character to the Little Miss team, Little Miss Waste Less.

The new eco-friendly face has been introduced to inspire “future generations to waste less and practice good environmentally-friendly habits”. Enter Little Miss Waste Less.

The new book will encourage young people to reduce their plastic waste by refilling and reusing.

With a blue body and green ponytail, Little Miss Waste Less represents the Earth and wants to “help parents educate their children to be kind to the planet”.

According to a recent study, nearly 50% of parents are “concerned” about the impact that they are having on the planet, with only 17% feeling hopeful.

64% of parents think that their kids have a positive influence on eco habits, while 63% are worried that their children aren’t being taught useful ways to reduce a negative impact.

Mr. Men Worldwide’s Silvia Figini said, “We truly believe in the power of storytelling to ignite behaviour change.

“Mr. Men Little Miss tales have always been about identifying yourself, and Mr. Men Little Miss characters, like all of us, sometimes struggle to stay on top of the amount of plastic waste in their homes”.

This new book, which is hoped to inspire the young generation, comes from the original creator, Roger Hargreaves’ son, Adam Hargreaves.

In turn, with any Ecover refill purchase this December, a physical copy of the book is being gifted. Otherwise, you can get a free digital copy here.

Some of the Mr. Men book series by Roger Hargreaves you might know and love, like Mr. Greedy, Mr. Bump, and Mr. Happy, to name a few, date back to 1971.

Ten years later, in 1981, the Little Miss book series was introduced. You’ll remember favourites like Little Miss Giggles and Little Miss Trouble.

Mr. Tickle was the first of the series, while Little Miss Bossy was the first in the Little Miss series. Now, they have a new friend in Little Miss Waste Less.

Her story features many of the much-loved characters from throughout the series. They join her to learn how to reduce their plastic waste by using refilling stations.

This is where Ecover come in, with its cruelty-free, plant-based, and biodegradable ingredients. They encourage refilling your washing-up liquid bottle, detergents, fabric softeners, and more.
