Many delicious foods are good for your singing voice, so you should make sure to incorporate them into your diet.

If you’re a singer, you will be acutely aware of how important it is to maintain and protect your vocal health, as it can make or break your performance.

The good news is that ensuring your voice is protected is not hard, as there are many easy tips to follow. One is eating certain foods that are good for your singing voice.

Besides playing an essential part in your health or well-being, foods can also have other not-so-obvious benefits, such as being suitable for your singing voice.

By eating certain specific types of food, you will be able to ensure that your singing voice is looked after as well as possible. This article will list what we believe to be the top ten delicious foods that are good for your singing voice.

    10. Peanut butter – a classic choice

Natural peanut butter contains protein, which will help you feel full and provide the energy required to sing well through a long performance. Peanut butter is quite versatile as it can be paired with many snacks.

    9. Cantaloupe – a healthy snack

Cantaloupes are made up of about 90% water, make for a healthy snack with a delicious flavour, and are great for hydration. They are made up mainly of water and are also naturally good for your voice.

    8. Toast and unsalted crackers – keep your voice naturally hydrated

You can keep your voice naturally hydrated by eating toast and unsalted crackers. Digesting bread forces the mouth to produce extra moisture to aid digestion, naturally lubricating the throat.

    7. Water – helps to aid the digestive process

Water, of course, is excellent for your voice and helps significantly in the digestive process. Room temperature water is recommended as being the best to drink as it rehydrates faster and is absorbed quicker.

Drinking water regularly is also recommended, as it is perfect for your overall health and well-being.

    6. Mixed nuts – a great snack to have on hand

Mixed nuts are always a great snack to have on hand at the best of times, especially for singers before a show.

Unsalted or lightly salted is best if possible, and it’s recommended to partner some water with it to ensure that your throat doesn’t dry out from the salt.

    5. Warm herbal tea – helps to warm the vocal cords

While caffeine can negatively impact your voice, if you instead drink naturally decaffeinated warm herbal tea, you will discover that it has a sauna-like effect on your throat as it warms your vocal cords.

    4. Fish – a lean source of protein

Like chicken, fish is a brilliant lean source of protein which is excellent for your health and great for you in general as it will provide you with plenty of energy.

This is a great source of protein to help get your voice back in shape if you have been ill or have a strained voice.

    3. Chicken – another excellent protein snack

As protein is vital for people who sing, chicken makes for a great protein snack of choice as it provides the energy required to keep singing for a long time while keeping your vocal cords from being overwhelmed with fat and oils.

    2. Fresh fruit – full of healthy vitamins

Fresh fruits are full of nutritional value. They contain fibre, vitamins, and plenty of the good stuff your body needs.

Eating fruit directly instead of their juice versions is recommended as they have quite a bit of sugar. Fresh fruit has so many benefits, so make sure to stock up!

    1. Honey – helps to coat and soothe your throat

In first place on our list of what we believe to be the top ten delicious foods that are good for your singing voice is honey. A small spoonful of honey in your water or decaf tea will help coat and soothe your throat.

It’s antibacterial and has antimicrobial qualities that can help keep sore throats away. This is very important for singers to ensure it doesn’t happen.

That concludes our article on what we believe to be the top ten best delicious foods that are good for your singing voice. Do you regularly eat many of them?
