Sometimes we need a good pick me up, and sitting back and watching heartwarming videos on YouTube is usually just what the doctor ordered.

The internet can be a hotspot for negative energy. In a world that seems to be full of war and misfortune, it can be easy to fall out of the pattern of seeking goodness in things.

Instead of laughing at videos of people falling over or arguing with law enforcement, why not access the more wholesome side of YouTube? Here is a list of heartwarming videos on YouTube to lift you up and remind you that the world is not all that bad.

    10. One act of kindness a day ‒ an inspiring way to pay it forward and feel good while doing it

In this TEDx conference, Mark Kelly tells the audience how one act of kindness daily can completely change your life.

Acts of service have the potential to make a difference in a person’s day. Still, it also has the power to completely transform the life and well-being of the person performing them. There’s no denying this is one of the most heartwarming videos on YouTube.

    9. The Balcony ‒ a story of connection

This animated short film tells a beautiful story of a fast connection made in an unexpected place.

A dissatisfied man comes home to a messy apartment. He goes to his balcony for a cigarette. While out there, he has a heartwarming interaction with a girl at a party in his neighbours’ apartment across the way.

    8. Experience Life ‒ a wonderful tribute to the wisdom of Robin Williams

With such an extensive acting career, there can be no real surprise that Robin Williams left his life with a wealth of insight for us to learn from.

This video shares uplifting knowledge from films such as Patch Adams, Good Will Hunting, and Dead Poets Society, to name just a few. One of the most loved actors to ever exist, we think this video is a fitting tribute to his life and work.

    7. Blindfolded kids trying to find their mothers ‒ one of the most heartwarming videos on YouTube

A group of mothers line up in a row while their children are blindfolded and tasked with finding out which woman is their mother.

We found it impossible not to smile at this adorable social experiment. The bond between a mother and child is something so beautiful, which is why this video is one of our favourites.

    6. The Real You ‒ an inspiring speech from Jim Carrey

This breathtaking speech from Jim Carrey will lift your spirits, warm your heart, and give you much food for thought. A compilation of some of his most inspiring words, this enlightened actor speaks the truth about the concept of ego, happiness, and fame.

    5. The Happiest Man on Earth ‒ a Holocaust victim shares his secret to living a happy life

99-year-old Holocaust victim Eddie Jaku gives this incredible speech at a TEDx event in Sydney. He regales the audience with his story of survival, love, and happiness, above all else. Speaking such an important message, this is one of the most heartwarming videos on YouTube you need to watch.

    4. My Dad is a Liar ‒ a story of a father’s love

This video is told from the perspective of a little girl. She writes a letter to her dad about how great he is.

However, it takes a turn when she points out how hard he works to keep her happy ‒ uplifting yet heart-wrenching at the same time. Try not to cry at this one; you’ll find it hard not to!

    3. Paperman ‒ an award-winning film

This Disney short won the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film at the 85th Academy Awards. It is now one of the most heartwarming videos on YouTube. The musical score makes it all the more warming.
